Solution Because of changing markets there have been several different types of memory expansion for Rio players as Rio kept up with this ever changing technology.

SD OR MMC MEMORY CARDS

The Rio Forge, Cali, Chiba, ESA11, S10, S30, S35, and S50 support both MMC and SD cards; the players support up to a 1GB memory card. These players may work with memory cards larger than 1GB, but they haven't been tested above 1GB.

The Nike PSA Play 60 and 120 support MMC memory cards. The players support up to a 256MB memory card.

SMART MEDIA MEMORY CARDS

The Rio One can be upgraded with 3.3v SmartMedia cards; the players support up to a 128MB memory card.
The Rio 500 can be upgraded with 3.3v SmartMedia cards; the players support up to a 128MB memory card.
The Rio PMP300 supports SmartMedia memory cards. The players support up to a 32MB memory card.

MEMORY BACKPACKS

The Rio 600, 800, and 900 require a proprietary memory "backpack" for expansion. The players support up to a 128MB memory backpack. The memory backpacks are not available from the estore. Please check local retailers, online retailers, and online auction sites for further availability.
