	How To - Format Player [Macintosh]

Solution Formatting the player will delete all content on the player and remove any settings that may have been changed. Please refer to the lists below to determine if your player is an MSC or NON-MSC player. The players will have different formatting directions.

MACINTOSH MASS STORAGE CLASS [MSC] PLAYERS:

Rio Carbon, Rio Forge, Rio Cali [Black RioStick], Rio Chiba [Black RioStick]

MACINTOSH MASS STORAGE CLASS [MSC] PLAYERS:

- From the Macintosh Desktop
- Click GO
- Click UTILITIES
- Click DISK UTILITY
- Select the player that is labeled as a drive
- Select ERASE
- Change VOLUME FORMAT to MS-DOS
- Click ERASE

MACINTOSH NON-MASS STORAGE CLASS [Non-MSC] PLAYERS:

Rio Chiba [Red RioStick], Rio Cali [Red RioStick], Rio S10, Rio S30S, Rio S35S, Rio S50, Rio Fuse

MACINTOSH NON-MASS STORAGE CLASS [Non-MSC] PLAYERS:

- Open iTunes
- Highlight the player in the Source List [left-hand side of software]
- Click LIGHTNING BOLT ICON at the bottom
